High-risk AI obligations expected 2 December 2027

Your AI features just became a compliance problem

If your product uses AI and you have customers in the EU, the AI Act applies to you. Penalties run to €15M or 3% of global turnover.

Time until high-risk obligations are expected to apply

That’s the expected date for high-risk obligations under Annex III. It’s still pending formal adoption, so treat it as a moving target.

Article 50 is a different story. Those transparency rules went live on 2 August 2026. If your chatbot doesn’t tell people it’s a chatbot, you’re already late.

And Annex IV documentation typically runs 12 to 18 months. So 2027 is closer than it looks.

SaaS with AI Features

Limited Risk

Chatbots, assistants and content tools have to tell people they're AI. That one is already in force, so it's the gap worth closing first.

Example: Customer support bots, recommendation engines, AI writing tools

Requires: Transparency notices under Article 50

FAQ

Does the AI Act apply to my company?
If you build, use, or resell AI that reaches people in the EU, yes. Doesn’t matter where you’re based. The free classifier sorts it out in about five minutes.
The transparency deadline passed on 2 August 2026. Am I too late?
Late, yes. Sunk, no. Article 50 is in force now, so a chatbot that doesn’t say it’s a chatbot is already non-compliant. Classify it, generate the disclosure, and the main gap is closed. That’s what Starter is for.
How is this different from a consultant?
Consultants typically charge €50K and take months. We handle the classification, the documents and the tracking from €39 a month. You still review and approve everything. You just don’t start from a blank page.
What if my system is minimal risk?
Then you’re done in five minutes and it costs you nothing. Save the classification report anyway. If someone ever asks why you decided it was minimal risk, that’s your answer.
I already have GDPR / ISO 27001. Does that help?
Yes. Upload what you’ve got and the gap analysis reads it, then tells you what already counts and what doesn’t. No point rewriting policies you already wrote.
Is the classifier really free?
Yes, and there’s no signup or card. Your risk tier and the reasoning behind it show up straight away. The full report, with your obligations and next steps, needs an email address. That’s the trade.
How accurate are the generated documents?
They’re written by Claude, with the actual requirements of each article built into the prompts. Treat them as a solid first draft, not a finished filing. You or your lawyer should read one before it goes anywhere.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel in settings and you keep access until the billing period ends. No phone call, no retention offer.
